DANIEL CREMIN
Daniel Cremin is a performer from Cork specialising in a psychological form of magic. Having completed his undergraduate degree in Social Science at UCC in 2023, Daniel has worked as a creative consultant and director for a number of magicians and theatre productions as well as performing and producing his own work. Throughout Daniel’s academic life he has focused strongly on the concept of performative identity and expectation states theory within the arts. As part of the marketing and PR department for CurrentLee Arts Festival, Daniel is most looking forward to engaging with the public and sharing the events that have been created.
SARAH ROSE KNOCHE
Sarah Rose Knoche is a professional musical theatre actor with ten years of performance experience. Returning to school to complete the MA in Arts Management and Creative Producing, Sarah Rose hopes to gain a deeper understanding of the production side of the arts and one day hopes to use those skills to become an artistic director. She is most excited for the Leeside Promenade, and is curious to see the artists’ interpretation of Cork’s past, present, and future within their given art disciplines. Sarah Rose has a deep love of storytelling, whether that be through reading, writing, performing, or creating skits for TikTok.
KARLA GROSSER
Karla Grosser hails from Germany and completed her undergraduate degree in International Event, Tourism and Marketing Management in early 2023 where she learned about sustainability strategies and contributed to marketing campaigns in a vegan publishing house. Throughout 2023 she worked on a range of creative projects, such as the Schlössernacht Dresden Festival as Assistant to the Creative Director and Stage Manager. Putting the artists at the heart of her practice, Karla supports artists like Stephanie Lüning and has previously worked on exhibitions, expos, concerts and music videos in South Korea, Dubai and Thailand. For CurrentLee Arts Festival Karla is a member of the Production and Technical Department, and looks forward to co-producing Corks Corner and the Leeside Promenade.
BEATRIZ CRUZ
Beatriz Cruz is a Portuguese arts student currently based in Cork. She has a bachelor’s degree in Art History and has gained experience in production through internships at St. Charles National Theatre and Ana Kohler’s Dance School, both located in Lisbon. Beatriz is passionate about musical theatre and dance. For CurrentLee Arts Festival, she works within the production/technical department and in the curation of Theatre Quest and Leeside Promenade. Beatriz is mostly excited about working with the festival’s younger audience and showing them behind the scenes of Cork Opera House.
ITZEL RAZO
Itzel Razo is a Mexican film booker with a keen passion for cinema and the arts. A graduate of Communication and Journalism from the National Autonomous University of México (UNAM), Itzel’s focus lies in the cinema, culture and art industries where she works to support and promote art as a resource for expression through artistic discourse and a tool of preservation.
HONGJIA ZHANG
Zhang, Hongjia is from China and graduated from the Nanjing University of Art in Fine Arts (Cultural Heritage Research) in 2023. Recent work includes the producing and promotion of the immersive drama "Old Dock 1929", staged in China in 2022. For CurrentLee Arts Festival Hongjia works with the marketing and PR Department, and is a producer for Cork’s Corner.
INEKE LAVERS
Ineke Lavers, in addition to her MA studies, is a freelance journalist based between Cork and Abu Dhabi. She completed her undergraduate studies in Museum Studies and Political Science in The Netherlands in 2019 and has since delved into multiple different fields. For CurrentLee Arts Festival Ineke works in the marketing department, specifically in developing the website, and is one of the producers for See Memories Attached and Conversations with Strangers. Ineke is particularly excited about exploring the curatorial and written elements of communicating these events, as well as generating content for social media.
JACK MURPHY
Jack Murphy is a Cork local and completed his BA in English here at UCC. Following a period of travelling he was extremely excited to return to Cork and begin this MA in Arts Management & Creative Producing. Jack is part of the production/technical department for the CurrentLee Arts Festival. With a passion for storytelling in all its forms he is thrilled to be co-curating See Memories Attached and showcasing the unknown stories of Cork personalities.
ALEKSANDRA SOBOLEVA
Aleksandra Soboleva is a Creative Industries producer from Moscow, Russia, currently based in Cork City. With a bachelor’s degree in marketing management, Aleksandra’s focus as a producer and arts manager is digital and cross-disciplinary arts.
Aleksandra is experienced in product management in fashion, as well as volunteering and administration in the creative sector. Her current ambitions lie in the visual curation of artistic events and multidisciplinary production. As a part of the marketing department of CurrentLee Arts Festival, Aleksandra is developing the festival’s identity and working on its marketing strategy. For Aleksandra learning how to make and facilitate art is learning how to organise chaos.
BENEDETTA SALERNO
Benedetta Salerno is a passionate writer and arts lover from Italy. During her bachelor's degree in Literature, Music, and Performing Arts, her research focused on interdisciplinary productions and transmedia storytelling. Later, she gained first-hand experience in the world of performing arts as an Assistant Director in Rome. Benedetta's deep interest in cultural industries led her to pursue an MA in Arts Management and Creative Producing. She is thrilled to be part of the producing cohort for CurrentLee Arts Festival, an experience that she finds both fun and full of opportunities for artistic experimentation. Her work in the fundraising department aims to support and contribute to the realisation of the project.
AMY O' CALLAGHAN
Amy O’Callaghan is a Cork musician and music educator. A member of three bands and the manager of the well established ‘Rebel Brass’, Amy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music studies along with Irish and Geography from UCC, and is also a recipient of a Quercus Scholarship for Creative and Performing Arts. Amy's keen interest in community engagement with the Arts has led her to work with Music Generation both in Cork city and Waterford. This has afforded Amy with the opportunity of seeing at first hand how community engagement with music benefits children and young adults in the locality. Amy is a member of the PR department and she is really looking forward to seeing CurrentLee Arts Festival come to life, particularly the Leeside Promenade.
GABRIELLE WILLIS
Informed by her experience as a professional dancer and manager, Gabrielle Willis, has had the pleasure of producing two dance benefit performances, highlighting everything from Ballet to Bharatanatyam, and has worked as a part of the administrative team for the yearly “Table of Silence” at Lincoln Center in NYC. Gabrielle is working with both the admin and finance departments for CurrentLee Arts Festival and is looking forward to re-experiencing the magic of the theatre through the eyes of children in the Theatre Quest. Gabrielle hopes to continue in her long-held interest in promoting accessibility and activism in the arts and to facilitate creative processes, performances, and communities to highlight the diverse voices of artists around the world.
GEMMA BUGLER
Gemma Bugler is part of CurrentLee Festival’s dynamic fundraising department and comes from the beautiful County Clare. A proud alumna of UCC, she holds a BA (International) degree in History of Art and French. Gemma has a passion for the visual arts and aspires to reimagine the role of the arts in Irish society. Her academic journey has equipped her with a blend of expertise in both art and language, allowing her to contribute meaningfully to the intersection of arts and culture. She is extremely excited to see the Opera House brought to life in a completely unconventional way during the festival’s many creative events. Her vision is anchored in the belief that the arts possess both aesthetic value and the power to inspire, provoke, and reshape societal perspectives. As a future producer Gemma is looking forward to making an impact on the city’s cultural narrative, and making art more accessible to everyone.
MA ARTS MANAGEMENT & CREATIVE PRODUCING
The new MA in Arts Management and Creative Producing, jointly developed by the School of Film, Music & Theatre at UCC and Cork Opera House, was launched in 2019. The programme showcases new forms of collaboration between the academy and the profession through innovative teaching, learning and research practices. This includes a wide range of placements and mentorships through the collaborative partnership between UCC and Cork Opera House as a ‘Learning Theatre’ as well as existing professional connections with the local, national and international arts community.
The new MA is led by Dr. Marie Kelly (School of Film, Music and Theatre, UCC, and former member of the Abbey Theatre’s management and creative team) and Eibhlín Gleeson (Chief Executive, Cork Opera House). The MA in Arts Management and Creative Producing draws together the Departments of Film, Music and Theatre with Business/Law at UCC, and the professional cultural context of Cork Opera House, working together to educate and inspire the next generation of arts managers, creative practitioners and professionals, and creating industry leaders of the future.
